The Lodge has 1 standard double en-suite room and 1 standard twin room which sleep two per room, 2 deluxe double en-suite rooms that can sleep 3 per room, 1 executive suite which can sleep 4 and 1 Family Room, which can sleep 4 persons. (We regret - no children under 10 years). A new exciting addition is 4 new free-standing self catering luxury chalets. Each room and chalet is tastefully furnished with high quality linen and furniture to give you an African feel, with all the luxuries expected of a 4 star establishment. The rooms at the lodge are professionally serviced daily and supplied with fresh towels every second day, or on request. The spacious luxurious chalets accommodate up to 4 persons and feature a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and large bathroom. A barbeque/braai facility is outside on the porch and you can enjoy spectacular sunsets that will leave you rejuvenated and well-refreshed. Cleaning services and daily laundry services are available on request at an additional cost. The main Lodge consists of a central dining area, stylish lounge with a fire place and a bar area, all overlooking the river and natural rock face in the distance. The unobstructed and breathtaking panoramic view of the rocky peak and distant mountains, fine dining with traditional cuisine, unsurpassed sunsets and unique story telling, contributes to a relax and joyous atmosphere. During the cold winter evenings, you will always find a fire going in the huge fireplace; snuck-up and relax! On a warm summer day you are welcome to soak up the sun next to our swimming pool and have a chilled South African beer on the patio-deck. The lodge hosts an abundance of wildlife in their natural environment. We now offer game drives on our reserve in an open safari vehicle, as well as giraffe walks - this is a once in a lifetime experience and photo opportunities are unlimited! We also have beautiful hiking trails which gives you an opportunity to view an abundance of South African antelope such as Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Zebra, Impala, Nyala, Bushbuck, Duiker, Grysbuck, Warthog, Bush Pig, Meerkat, Mongoose, Fox, Porcupine, Jackal, Lynx and primates such as Baboon and Vervet Monkey can be viewed on a game walk or from the patio at the Lodge. A large variety of birds, including bird of prey such as the majestic Black Eagle, nests in the evergreen bushveld, the rocky slopes or in the trees next to the river. The magnificent Flora resembles a natural succulent garden with Aloe, Euphorbia, Spekboom, as well as protected Cycads and indigenous Strelitzia. It is here where the Giraffes are at home in tranquil and relaxed surroundings. We are in very close proximity from renowned reserves like Addo Elephant National Park, the world famous Shamwari Game Reserve, Cheetah Breeding farm, and the oldest Private Lion Game Reserve in the area. An absolute favorite among guests, and highly recommended, is to arrange a 2 or 3 day stay with us. You will have the opportunity to visit the Addo National Elephant Park, one of the oldest private lion and game reserves, a cheetah sanctuary where you can interact with Cheetahs and this gives you picture opportunities that is truly unique. A day visit to Jeffreys Bay the surfing paradise of South Africa, is also a big favorite. Alternatively you can use a self-drive option if you prefer to explore the region at your own leisure and we will happily assist you in planning your safe and easy routes from our Lodge to various game parks and sights. If you are passing through our area, then Valley Bushveld Country Lodge is the perfect place to stay over as a bed and breakfast, or in the self catering chalets, whichever the guest prefers.
